Sikins

A new first for the garden, Siskins, both male and female were on the nyger seed feeders earlier in the week but I couldn't get a shot in the rain. While I was sat in the garden today they arrived again but refused to come over the fence from next door. Managed a couple of record shots before they flew off leaving me with the comical tunes of the resident Goldfinch.

It's turned cloudy yet again, so that looks about it for my Easter offering, I'll think I'll just while away a lazy afternoon checking out everyone elses efforts.

Great shots. It kind of looks like the goldfinches we get here except for the streaking on my sides of the belly.

Nice shots. I have yet to see any anywhere near my garden.

Apart from Friday it has been miserable weather here. The temperature has just managed to reach double figures as the Sun is trying to break through.

excellent shots... not been able to get any more shots of the Hoopoe but seeing them a good bit.. but I'm told that they are quite common here...

...nice shots! It's always fun to get new birds in the back yard. Your siskins resemble our goldfinches. Are they getting a summer plumage? Our goldfinches do a complete change and become very bright yellow.

Hi,

Great news with the siskins, we got our first garden siskins just a few weeks ago too. Nice photos too.

Hope you had a great easter!

Lovely to have the Siskins visiting - such colourful birds. And yes, it was lousy weather over the holiday weekend!

Hope you enjoyed your Easter!

Beautiful, crystal clear photos. Some really clear close ups of those beautiful "Sikins"
