We had a lovely time over at Yorkshire Wildlife Park last weekend, with the colder weather both the Tigers and Lions were much more active than they are in the warmer months. The tigers Vladimir and Sayan will hopefully be getting together later this month to do their bit for the breeding programme, it would be lovely to see some tiger cubs in the future. Something else to look forward to will be the appearance of the Leopards which should be in time for Easter.

What majestic animals! and they look happy too - I guess they have plenty of space to range in. Beautiful images, Paul.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots Paul.
ReplyDeleteThat male Lion is certainly showing who's the boss!
I was scrolling down looking at those big cats, then a squirrel pops up, what a contrast! made me laugh :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat to be able to get such clear views of the big cats. Lovely shots. Are there raised paths similar to those I remember from Flaming Park Zoo years ago?
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise to open your blog up and see tigers! Gorgeous cats!!
ReplyDeleteYour shots are simply impressive!
ReplyDeleteSo wow!
i'd keep that squirrel away from those cats :D nice shots
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments :-) Yes Hilke, they do all have loads of space, I shall endeavour to get some wide shots next time. John, for the lions it's a raised path around the 3 huge enclosures and for the tigers it's a raised platform, both offer great unrestricted views. The new leopard enclosure is well under way and looks to be a similar set up to the tigers although we've not seen that close up as yet. The squirrel was one of many hanging about in the open on our way round to the tigers :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of the Tigers, Lions and of coure the sqirrel, superb.
